Step into the past with us because we're taking you all the way back to 1982, when a visionary youth culture errupted around the scene of one legendary London club: The Batcave. Before there were "goths" there were the batcavers; a community of freaks, deviants, queers, and thrill-seeking partygoers who built a campy, lively, morbid, glamorous culture of art, music, and fashion that would one day evolve into what we know as goth today. In The Batcave, cult icons like Siouxsie, Specimen, Alien Sex Fiend, Nick Cave, Bauhaus and so many more found their scene and began a movement that still lives on in nightclubs around the world. But this scene wasn't moody or morose like you might expect, it was alive! Buzzing with the feeling of a creative energy that was innovative, unexpected, and visceral, much like the one we're creating in our community today!

On October 9th at Resonnce we're digging up and reanimating this moment in subcultural history to remind us how the creative energy of one scene can thrive and mutate far beyond its walls. Experience the thrill that lives at the beginning of something bigger than itself, because how we party today might just shape culture from beyond our graves!
